You will visit the historic ruins of the Drukgyel Dzong, which was built in 1647, and also take in the stunning views of the Paro airport from the viewpoint. Once you reach Paro, you will drive 12 KM north to visit the Holy Tiger Nest Monastery, which requires a 2-3 hour hike each way. However, if you’re not interested in hiking, you can still enjoy a view of the monastery from the parking point. Afterward, you can proceed with local sightseeing, including a visit to Ta dzong, Rinpung Dzong, Dungtse Lhankhang, Nya-mey Zam, Ugyen Pelri Palace, and Kychulhakhang monastery. At Kychulhakhang monastery, you can explore the cultural and traditional heritage by dressing up in local attire and trying on various traditional dresses available at the location. This valley is the winter home of black necked cranes that migrate from Tibet. This valley is one of the most beautiful and scenic ones in Bhutan. On the slope overlooking the valley is the Gangtey monastery built in the 17th century and is one of the oldest and biggest monasteries of the Nyingma (red hat sect) school of Buddhism.
